Ecosa vs Ergoflex Mattress Comparison Overview
Both Ecosa and Ergoflex mattress are excellent choices but which one should you choose? Cutting straight to the point, the difference between the two mattresses comes down to ten main points:
- Price — Ecosa is more affordable than Ergoflex, but Ergoflex is also a value purchase – Confused? Well, Ergoflex is made using high-quality visco-elastic memory foam similar to Tempur mattress, which typically cost anywhere from three to four thousand dollars.
- Feel — Ergoflex has a dense body-shaping memory foam feel while Ecosa has a responsive neutral-foam feel.
- Firmness Option — Ergoflex is available in one firmness option (Medium) while Ecosa comes in three firmness levels (Soft, Medium, Firm).
- Pain Relief — The Ergoflex mattress is nigh-on unbeatable in terms of pain and pressure relief. It’s been designed with the most advanced foams to smooth out your aches and pains like a trained masseuse. The Ecosa, despite offering pain relief qualities, can’t quite match up.
- Customisation — With the Ergoflex, you get one firmness (medium-firm). Ecosa, on the other hand, gives you a choice between three different firmness levels thanks to its unique shuffleable foam layers.
- Body Type — Ergoflex is more supportive than Ecosa, which also makes it more suitable for heavier individuals.
- Sleep Positions — Both mattresses work fine in most sleeping positions. However, side or combo sleepers may prefer Ecosa due to its responsive and pillowtop design.
- Sleep Temperature — If you’re a hot sleeper, probably Ecosa would be more suitable for you.
- Shipping — Ecosa offers free shipping Australia-wide while Ergoflex charges anywhere from $19.99 to $69.99 for delivery depending on location. Returns are free for Ecosa and Ergoflex – however, for certain remote areas, Ergoflex may charge a return-pickup fee.
- Policies — Ecosa offers a 100-night sleep trial along with an industry-leading 15-year warranty while Ergoflex offers a 30-night trial (extendable) and 10-year guarantee.
- Bang for the buck pricing
- Adjustable firmness to suit all sleepers
- Industry-leading 15-year warranty
- Value-for-money memory foam mattress

- Great for bad backs and body ache (Supportive)

Comfort, Firmness & Feel - Ecosa vs. Ergoflex.
While the Ecosa’s overall feel is determined by which of the three shuffleable foam layers are placed on top, it can generally be depended on to provide a relatively balanced sleeping experience—albeit firmer with the ergonomic support foam on top and bouncier with the ECO-Tex layer on top. Some sleepers may find the mattress too firm regardless, preferring the reactivity of an innerspring or the increased ‘sink’ of other memory foams, but we feel most sleepers will be happy with at least one of the Ecosa mattress’ firmness options.
Ergoflex, on the other hand, provides a night-time experience centred around pressure-relief, support and recovery. The company is proud to list a number of top UK and Australian athletes that rely on its mattress as part of their training routine. It’s not empty-talk either: the Ergoflex mattress really is perfect for soothing aches, pains and pressure throughout the body. It contours without sinking; supports the spine and joints; and it offers enough cushioning to remain comfortable for the majority of sleepers. As a cheaper alternative to the premium Tempur mattress, it more than delivers.
Sleep Position Ratings - Ecosa vs. Ergoflex.
Front, back and side sleepers are catered for nicely with both mattress choices here. However, while the medium-firm (6/10 on the mattress firmness scale) Ergoflex is ideally suited for those with severe pain issues or those recovering from injury, it might cause some issues for combination sleepers. Folks who toss and turn in the night could find themselves fighting against the contouring effects of the visco-elastic foam layer.
The Ecosa mattress, while no slouch in the art of pain-relief, can’t quite compete with Ergoflex’s self-proclaimed “clinically correct support for all”. Thankfully, its customisable nature makes it a better choice for combo sleepers who can choose between a ‘medium’ (5/10), ‘medium-firm’ (6/10) or ‘firm’ (8/10) setting as per their night-time needs.
As always, we want to remind you that mattress firmness ratings are purely subjective. It’s always best to try out a mattress for yourself before coming to a firm judgement!
Sinkage, Bounce, Edge Support, Motion Isolation - Ecosa vs. Ergoflex.
Sinkage and Bounce
The Ecosa mattress is definitely the bouncier of the two thanks to its ECO-Tex foam, although neither of them are likely to double as trampolines anytime soon. Furthermore, while the Ergoflex mattress could hardly be described as “swallowing” any sleepers up, its visco-elastic top layer provides more contouring and body-cradling sinkage than Ecosa’s offering.
For that feeling of being nestled and encased in a supportive mattress, opt for the Ergoflex. For a more reactive, bouncy feel, the Ecosa is your go-to.
Edge Support
Foam mattresses will never be the best-in-class when it comes to edge support; for that, you’d fare better with a spring-base mattress with reinforced edges. Still, of these two options, the Ergoflex reigns supreme thanks to its high-resilience foam base which outperforms Ecosa’s equivalent Ergonomic Support Foam. Both offer adequate edge support for most consumers’ needs, but Ergoflex’s high quality materials inevitably come out on top.
Motion Isolation
It’s a close call indeed between these two mattresses and their motion isolation performance. Of course, Ecosa, with its ergonomic support foam, is famous for its viral “jumping on a bed with three wine glasses” video, proving its top-notch performance in the motion isolation field. Conversely, Ergoflex’s combination of high-density top layer and high-resilience base layer make it a fierce contender against even the mightiest mattresses out there. Overall, we put the two neck-and-neck.

Sizing & Price Comparisons - Ecosa vs. Ergoflex.
There’s no denying that Ecosa and Ergoflex aren’t quite playing in the same pricing league. For budget buyers, the Ecosa mattress should be your first pick. With that said, the premium materials on offer with the Ergoflex more than justify the elevated price. When choosing between the two, it’s purely a matter of what best fits your budget.

Buyer Feedback - Ecosa vs. Ergoflex.
Ergoflex may take the cake on productreview.com.au with an average review score of 4.8 (compared to Ecosa’s 4.2) and the honour of the website’s 2020 mattress award, but neither of them are exactly short on glowing reviews.
Discussing her Ecosa mattress, Van from Sydney stated:
“The mattress is really good. Very comfortable and excellent quality. Waking up feeling fresh and no more soreness or tiredness. I would recommend this mattress to anyone. Very happy with this purchase”
Lesley, an Ergoflex owner from South East Queensland, proudly wrote:
“I have struggled with chronic back pain for years. I have found the ergoflex mattress very comfortable. It’s supportive but not too hard. I don’t wake up with back pain which is a real positive and I sleep well.”
Final Verdict:
With the Ecosa and Ergoflex mattresses, we’ve got two different products for two different customers. After a customisable, high-quality sleep experience that won’t break the bank? Go for the Ecosa. Got a little more money to spend on premium materials or suffer from significant pain issues? The Ergoflex has got your back (and your hips, and your joints too).
There’s no denying that Ecosa’s post-purchase support is leaps and bounds better than Ergoflex’s. However, there’s definitely truth to Ergoflex’s claim that theirs is the only 10-year warranty to have stood the test of time (having been around for longer than 10 years, unlike most modern mattress companies).
