Pharmedoc Pregnancy Pillow Review
Pharmedoc pregnancy pillow — The Pharmedoc U-shape pregnancy pillow is the most-recommended one in Australian forums for a reason. Our team’s review covers comfort, fill and value.
Priya on our team’s sister tested the Pharmedoc through a third trimester. The short version: it’s not a marketing fluke — the U-shape design is genuinely effective. Here’s the longer take.
What it is (Pharmedoc pregnancy pillow)
A 1.5-metre U-shaped full-body pillow that wraps around the sleeper. One side supports the back, the other supports the bump and front. Available in microfibre fill with a removable washable cover.
Comfort
Out of the bag, the fill compresses during shipping — it takes 24 hours to fully loft. Once loft, it holds the bump from underneath, supports the lower back, and provides a leg-rest at the same time. The result is fewer position changes through the night.
Sizing
The 1.5 m U-shape suits sleepers up to about 175 cm. Taller sleepers may want the longer version. It does take significant bed real estate — couples may find it crowds a queen.
Cover
The cover is jersey cotton, machine washable. Buy a second cover if you can — it gets hot, sweaty use during pregnancy.
Value
$130–$180 in Australia (Amazon, Catch). Cheaper than the Theraline, more comfortable than the Boppy. The best price-to-comfort ratio in the segment.
Post-pregnancy use
Useful as a body pillow for breastfeeding (props baby and arm), then later as a regular body pillow. Most users keep it for 1–2 years post-baby.
Care
The cover washes; the inner fill should not. Spot-clean any spills.
Alternative if Pharmedoc isn’t available
Bbhugme (Australian, more premium, ~$300), or a long bolster pillow — see our explainer.
