PharMeDoc Pregnancy Pillow: Review

You know how difficult it can be to get a good sleep when you’re pregnant. This is particularly true during the last months of pregnancy. As your body changes dramatically over nine months, uninterrupted sleep is a must. You may have enjoyed a comfortable and relaxing bed before pregnancy, but now you need back hip and spinal support.

Multiple pillows may help, but they can also be hot and annoying when you are tossing around so much trying to get comfortable. A pregnancy pillow makes a huge difference.

The PharMeDoc c-shape pregnancy pillows (also known as the CeeCee Pillow) are designed to replace multiple bed pillows and support your neck, head, back, and knees.

General Overview

The Pharmedoc Pillow is not like any other pillow. The C-shaped pillow allows you to adjust it in a variety of positions, which will help support and cradle your growing bump and body. The pillow can also be adjusted to a tighter shape to allow you to read, sit up, or relieve pressure on your knees. The pillow can be arranged to fit the entire body for a comfortable sleep.

The C-shaped design or semi-circular wraps around a pregnant woman, supporting her head, spine, bump, and knee to maintain a neutral spinal alignment. It is important to keep the spine in a neutral position during pregnancy, as this can cause discomfort and aches. The polyfill core adjusts to the body and back when sleeping, reading, breastfeeding, or watching television.

This pillow is more than a maternity cushion. It’s also a great option for those recovering from surgery, or anyone who wants to support their neck, head and knees as well as their back.

Who could love the pillow?

  • Pregnant women or those who have had surgery are not recommended to use this product.
  • Sleepers on the side and back.
  • The back, neck, head, knees and legs need extra support.
  • Sleepers require additional support in all parts of the body, including their neck and head.

Who might not like the pillow?

  • Stomach sleepers.
  • Customers become overheated when there is too much going on around them.

My Experience

The PharMeDoc Pregnancy C-Shape Pillow has been in my possession for almost a week. The pillow was a great help in relieving my back, hips, and knees.

The cylindrical shape of the pillow meant that my head was cushioned but not braced to provide ultimate protection. The c-shaped pillow was comfortable for me to lean against, as it supported my back and lifted my hips.

The pillow did not align my neck and shoulders properly, which caused me to have trouble sleeping. The design of the pillow did not allow for natural alignment while sleeping.

PharMeDoc may recommend this pillow to anyone, but I think it is best for women who are pregnant in Trimester 1 or 2 and for those needing additional support for their lower back, knees, and hips. The pillow may not be suitable for those with neck problems or who sleep on the stomach. The pillow is designed for people who sleep on their left side. For those who switch sides, you will notice the difference.

My Experience

I am 152cm and currently 34 weeks pregnant. I usually sleep on my stomach, but due to pregnancy, I have had to switch sides. It is not recommended that pregnant women sleep on their backs.

Pillow Construction & Design

The PharMeDoc pillow is vacuum-compressed and comes in a medium size box. Open the vacuum seal and the pillow will expand to its original size. The pillow may not reach its full size for up to 48 hours. Be sure to fluff the pillow when you first receive it.

A small booklet is included with the pillow that explains how to use it in different positions.

The inner core fabric is composed of 45% polyester, 45% cooling nylon, and 10% spandex jersey fabric. The soft cover fabric promotes a cool feeling to the touch, leaving you refreshed and comfortable. Double-stitched all around the pillow for durability, it has a removable zip cover that can be machine washed.

The Overall View

This pillow is not as flexible in terms of shape compared to other pregnancy pillows. It did, however, provide relief for the lower back, knees and hips. In trimester 3 the cylindrical shape was not as supportive or comfortable, but this depends on personal preference.

Shorter people may need to adjust their pillows to fit comfortably around them.

The PharMeDoc C-Shape Pregnancy pillow is worth consideration. The price was reasonable, the cover was soft and the hip support was the strongest.
